BattlegroundHD is proud to introduce a powerful new system for solo and cooperative play: BattlegroundHD AI — where AI stands for Automated Initiative.

Designed to bring the same tactical intensity of head-to-head play into solo and co-op games, BattlegroundHD AI uses a three-deck card system to simulate the actions of enemy forces. These decks — Unaware, Alert, and Aware — represent the evolving states of enemy readiness. As the enemy's posture changes during the battle, you draw from the corresponding deck to guide their behavior.

Each AI card provides detailed instructions for every step of an enemy unit’s activation, offering a clear and intuitive way to manage opposing forces. The result is a game experience that is both smooth and unpredictable — easy to run, yet filled with subtle layers of decision-making and tension.

But the real power of the system lies in its adaptability.

Each scenario in BattlegroundHD specifies which cards are used to build the AI decks, allowing the enemy’s behavior to match the narrative and tactical flavor of the mission. Even better, every scenario pack includes custom AI cards unique to that setting, introducing special actions and behaviors that bring the battlefield to life in a way only BattlegroundHD can.
